ALIVE
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” J.K Rowling Alive, is a feeling of consciousness, which gained a deeper meaning during the pandemic. Living in a situation where it was hard to achieve that emotion, the designer tried various ways of art to regain that feeling of being alive. This collection is inspired by the designer's poems and drawings she made along them and her self expression through dance. Silhouettes of Mummenschanz Dance Group and Charolette Laundrea’s costumes were a major inspiration, for the volume of the outfits. Refik Anadol’s digital sensory art was taken as a stepping stone, as the designer focused on the senses that induce the feeling of being alive. This inspired most of the manipulations for this collection. The aim of this collection is to depict how, even in the dark and difficult times,we still manage to find positivity within ourselves, which is what makes us feel alive.
